At Tasman Eco, we’ve spent a lot of 2022 getting to know the Australian Charities that work to ensure families in need have access to baby goods and essentials at such an important time in their lives. You can learn more about ourCharity Network here.
Together with our Charity Network, we are launching theLess Waste, Love More campaign.
At Tasman Eco, we want to do our part in ensuring we can minimise waste in the baby-sphere, to be sure that a single product’s life can be extended beyond one child, or when one family has finished using it.
The goal of Less Waste, Love More is to encourage a greater number of donations to these charities, where used items are verified and prepared to be safe and functional for their next families. In addition, we want families to have a clear path of what they can do with their nursery furniture and used baby goods when they no longer need them.
What is also pretty great, is when you donate to our charity network, you’ll receive $150 off an excellent mattress, from Tasman Eco, THE MATTRESS.
There is no end-date for the Less Waste, Love More campaign, the idea is to create a cycle of good, a safe space among our charity network and Australian families to ensure their used pieces can be passed on to families in need, families in need who can have access to excellent products that are safe and functional.
To begin, the following charities are participating in Less Waste, Love More and our goal is to grow this initiative to plenty more charities within Australia;
The charities in this network do incredible work everyday for Australian families in need. They are focused on bringing these families key necessities in the first few years of a young family, ensuring these products meet the appropriate standards and are safe for use. The revival of baby cots is a key part of what they do, they take second-hand/used cots and bring them new life and ensure that they meet the strict Australian standards, as well as making sure they are fresh and looking brand new.
To participate and donate to the Less Waste, Love More initiative, charities will be accepting the following items from the below lists;

BABY GIVE BACK
- Cots, sold within Australia and New Zealand manufactured after 2003 (no splits or cracks).
- Bassinets, must have all mesh sides with a wide and stable base.
- Car Seats, cannot be more than 8 years old, nothing manufactured before 2015.
- Prams, must meet Australian Saftey Standards, can recline, have a 5-point harness, faultless breaks and a sun hood.
DANDELION FOUNDATION
- Cots, sold within Australia and New Zealand manufactured after 2003 (no splits or cracks).
- Baby Cot manchester in cot, compact cot, bassinet or single bed sizes, incl. mattress protectors and sheets.
- Car Seats, newborn suitable, manufactured after October 2015.
- Car Seats for 6 months+, manufactured after October 2015.
- Single Prams, newborn suitable.
- Nappy bags, baby wipes, lotion and baby body wash.
- Baby baths
- Safety gates
- Bassinets
- Toddler beds
- Capsules, manufactured after October 2015
- Toys (under 40cm in size) and games for children from newborn to teenager.
- Clothing from 0000 – children’s size 16.

It’s easy to donate, follow these instructions;
- If you have an item that meets the mentioned donation criteria, identify your local charity drop-off point, from the mentioned charity list.
- Take your item to be donated to the list of mentioned charities in the network, where the item will be verified to ensure it meets the donation criteria.
- Once verified, your item will be prepared for families in need and then you’ll receive your $150 off adult/toddler mattress voucher.
- There is a unique code on the voucher, here you can use this code when you go to purchase THE MATTRESS at Tasman Eco

If you have purchased THE MATTRESS before making a donation, we will need to handle your $150 off a little differently. Simply, when going to donate, take a picture of you donating your items at the drop off point, send this photo* to the team at Tasman Eco, with your order number from your adult/toddler mattress purchase, and we’ll send you $150 cashback off of your mattress purchase.
